Testimonials Rochdale and Clitheroe

What patients say

It is great to get testimonials from happy patients. Here are a few examples that we would like to share.

Patricia Haslam

I would like to thank all the staff at Bamford Dental Practice for making it a pleasurable experience for a very nervous patient, and especially to Mark and Sandy who have with their excellent expertise given me a wonderful smile.

I would recommend them to anyone needing an implant tooth.

Rachel Roberts

Dear Mark and the whole Bamford Team.

I am finding it difficult to find the words to adequately convey my gratitude for your professionalism and kindness.

You are amazing at what you do, true leaders. But what sets you apart is the kindness, gentleness and concern for people. I have never had an experience quite like it.

You also made it great fun... in a funny way I almost felt part of the team… a very inactive one of course.

Thank you for new smile... I feel a new person... full of confidence... ready for the next stage.

You are a very special team. Please never lose what makes you special.

With very best wishes.

Mark Fitzpatrick

Can I just say a big thank you for my new tooth. It has made a huge difference to how I eat. It has also become my new favourite tooth, any tricky items like large nuts are sent to that side of my mouth and are crushed to smitherines. A pleasure I have not enjoyed for years.

Another big thank you for keeping the whole process pain free because as you know I was a little nervous at the start.

One last thing, I hope Burnely beat Man U this coming August in the premiere league. I did not mention I was a claret whilst you were operating in case you accidentally slipped.

Good luck for the future.

Christine Shaw

Many thanks to you all at Bamford Dental Practice. You really are an amazing team. What you have done for me has made such a difference to my life. Love to you all.

Joanne Timperley

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Mr Mark Edmondson and all of his team who have looked after me and calmed my nerves throughout the whole process of having my first molar implant.

I was very scared, but their professionalism and great skill gave me confidence and I am more than delighted with the results. It wasn’t painful at all and I only had very minimal discomfort for a couple of days after the operation.  My new tooth looks fantastic and I can now eat easily and am smiling all of the time.

If I had to have another implant I wouldn’t hesitate or worry at all – and I would definitely recommend having it done as it has made such a massive difference to my life.

Many thanks again.

I just wanted to say thank you after my treatment this morning. I couldn't say thanks as I was leaving as I had a mouthful of gauze!

I was, as ever, terrified - due to my stupid phobia about everything to do with dentists (I blame terrible experiences as a child, but it really is time I got over it.) and not having had an extraction done since I was about 10.

Everyone who I met during my visit was so patient with me - from the lovely lady on reception (whose name I didn't get, unfortunately) who initially convinced me that I was brave enough to go through with the treatment - to Mark Edmondson, who carried out what could easily have been a pretty horrific extraction but kept me calm and (almost) smiling throughout, and his two dental assistants who helped me get through possibly the longest hour of my life!!

Thanks also to Bryan Bennett, who popped up before my appointment to explain my fears to Mark (or possibly warn him that I might run away)

Everyone asks me why I drive so far to go to your dental practice, and this morning is an example of exactly why I do.

Alison Seddon

I have been scared of dentists after a horrendous experience at a school dentist nearly fifty years ago. With the help of a dentist I slowly, over many years, became comfortable with sitting in a dentist's chair. However, when she retired I was very nervous about going to another one and when it was suggested I had an implant with reconstructive surgery I nearly went into orbit. BUT I needn't have worried in the slightest, Mark talked calmly and confidently about how the surgery would progress. I do not miss my denture at all and if I had known the benefits of an implant I would have had it done years ago. I have every confidence in Mark and his team and would not hesitate to recommend an implant to anyone should they need it.

If you knew how scared I used to be you would be amazed that I am writing this.

Lisa Groom

Mark was very calming and made me feel much more relaxed about the whole experience. Mark talked through the whole procedure informing me of every step. Thanks Mark, I would recommend you to anyone.

I just wanted to let you know how thrilled I am with my new implants. They looks really great and I love them. I can now look in the mirror and smile at myself instead of looking at the hideous gap in the front of my mouth.

I found Mr Edmondson to be extremely personable and I felt totally at ease to ask all of my many questions. I cannot speak highly enough of dental implants they have enriched my life in both a practical and cosmetic manner. The end product is fantastic.

5 years ago I received 2 rear implants, a bone graft and sinus lift from Mark Edmondson. This enabled a 4 tooth bridge to be attached and consequently enabled me to properly chew my food. I am now back to have a further 2 implants on the other side which will support a 3 tooth bridge. Mark is a true professional and I have the greatest admiration for the quality of his work which he consistantly produces. Would I recommend him to my colleagues, friends and family?...I already have!!

Debbie Watson

When my front crown failed and I decided to have an implant, I braced myself for months of pain and liquid diet. The thought of having my bone drilled into and a piece of metal screwed in was very daunting. I needn’t have worried. An initial consultation with Mark Edmondson put my mind at rest as he is such a kind and caring person. From that moment I trusted him. Although I was nervous on the morning of the procedure everything went perfectly. I felt absolutely nothing and had no pain whatever after. The area was a little tender as to be expected but I was amazed at how easy and painless it all was. Alison Whittaker and the team of lovely dental nurses with their friendly approach and professionalism completed the whole implant experience. If you are thinking about an implant. Talk to Mark and trust him. It is the best way forward and I have a fabulous new tooth and smile. Thank you so much Mark.

18 months ago I found myself visiting my regular dentist with increasing regularity and even as a child such trips were always the stuff of nightmares. It was obvious to all that continually re cementing crowns for the next 30 years was not really an option. So it was with some reluctance that I was finally convinced to consult with Mark Edmondson the implant guru!! Even the phrase ‘implant’ was enough to send shivers down my spine especially when  clarity emerged and we were looking at 7 of them!! Bone grafts, bridgework, extractions –the images going round in my mind at that point were horrendous. Still, Mark assured me that he and his team would "manage me through the whole process" and it would be probably uncomfortable at certain points but not as painful as I was imagining. Yeah, right, heard all that before!!

And so the inevitable process began-it had to really, not through vanity particularly but more because my teeth needed a solution that didn’t involve dental trips every other month for the rest of my life. I’d read all about places where it could be done in a day etc etc. How often do quick fixes ever stand the test of time? If you want something doing properly, then get the experts to do it.

For the tricky bits, Mark recommended sedation, probably recognising that I had the pain threshold of a six year old. After the first couple of  trips into dreamland and never feeling a thing I was ready to take on the 4 hour "biggy" of the grafting and implant insertions. I turned up actually completely at ease with something that months earlier, I could never have believed would be possible. I emerged having been told this would be the most painful part of the whole thing and that 2 weeks off work would be the order of the day because of swelling more than pain. I went home waiting  for the pain to hit and the swelling to become grotesque. Two days later I was still waiting, and whilst there was some swelling for a day or two it was nothing like what I prepared myself for and I actually felt a touch disappointed that this mega project I had built up in my mind was hardly anything at all. What a wuss!!

And so, the treatment continued as things settled down and I found myself actually looking forward to going and getting my problem finally sorted.

Today I paid my final visit to Mark, the final sign off if you like. My mouth feels re born, fresh and fantastic. I am so glad I went through with this.

Like so many things, you build them up to be something they never are and I smile to myself when people comment on my bravery, and how they could never go through something like that. If only they really knew that actually it was nothing of the sort. Now I smile and just let them believe it but now it’s a confident smile!!

Thanks to Mark and his team. An awesome job. If you are not sure, neither was I, but it’s the best thing you can do for yourself.

IMPLANTS: the solution that scares most of us. With the right specialist Surgeon it is not a problem.

A sporting injury from decades ago, forced me down this path, with 3 front crowns no longer sustainable plus infection in the bone resulting in declining health. I “fell” into Mark Edmondson’s surgery and was met with kindness and care.

The treatment plan was fully explained with diagrams and samples thus instilling total confidence which gave me the ability to deal with all procedures. It was not a short route; everything was done as advised; everything was checked between treatments; even with bone and skin grafts plus an added complication, reassurance and care was normal practice. I had a silly question, so e-mailed, but got a reply the same day.

The whole team surrounding my treatment was brilliant, with Mr.Schofield having the responsibility of doing a great job in fitting and colour matching.

I hear the negatives from others, regarding implant surgery.

The pain? No, with a relaxing “shot” I was unaware and afterwards I barely had any.

The bruising? Yes I had colourful bruising, but massaged my face twice a day, and it soon receded.

The time factor? Yes, it is lengthy, but that is what makes it work.

The end product? Yes, it was worth waiting for – just back to how I was years ago before the crowns.

After Care? Yes, I was given a card containing technical details of procedures, particular to my operations, and the knowledge I can return should there be an issue, and rely on their continued professionalism.

I would recommend visiting Mark Edmondson at this Dental Practice to consider implants.
